Be careful of online contractors.
Some are very good, but it's easy to be friendly and seem competent, give an estimate, ask for your cash or check for deposit/materials and never be seen again.
David / Matt (same guy) posts on Craigslist as a tile contractor, landscaper or stonelayer He likes to use the email address of:wedogoodwork@hotmail.com. He lives in NH, but works in MA, too.
Please be very careful. He's taken money from people, never to be seen or heard from again. People with complaints have found calls, emails and letters unanswered and have no way to recoup their losses or to have work re-done.
If you ask him about postings like this, he'll dismiss them. "People can post whatever they want!" : He'll crumble up your printed page (like this one) and toss it aside dramatically. You'll be tempted to believe him. (Sure they can...this posting is supported by solid documentation and first-hand information). Check with law enforcement first. You'll be surprised that you were nearly taken in.

He:
- seems friendly, honest and capable, and is is a good salesman. You'll think he's great!
- asks for local checks and cash (for a reason)
- uses invalid addresses and reference names on invoices. You may be calling "Richard Evans", but you'll be talking to David/ Matt.
- Has stolen things from jobsites and homes.
In addition to being a questionable contractor, he's been charged with:
- being an Habitual Offender in 2 NH counties
- Lying to law enforcement
- Assault (NH)
- Fugitive from justice on fraud/larceny charges (Boston, MA)
- Issuing bad checks
- non-payment of rent/eviction (NH)

He's failed to pay attorneys and others who tried to help him. He's left a trail of broken promises, broken contracts, unpaid bills, unpaid business associates, unpaid friends. "You know I'm good for it!". He has no conscience. He has no empathy for the losses of others. Every day a new excuse...(I don't know what a sociopath is, but you might look into it. It seems to explain him very well.)
When you check him out online, you'll see he's fooled others: don't feel badly if you were duped, too.
Protect yourself.
This guy is dangerous.
